If Hunger Were a Body
Certain times a story plays in my mind: that hunger is bad, something to struggle with, an annoyance. Here's another story to consider: what if hunger were a living thing, part of this creation, no less than the trees and grass? What if it were an invitation to delightfulness? If hunger were a body, could you dress it in clothing that fits? Something not too loose, not too tight. Allow it room to move and breathe and dance and laugh. With too many layers on, its beauty cannot show itself as well.

Flattery vs sincerity
I have often thought of chocolate cake as a flatterer - makes you feel good in the short term but offers little edification over time. A little dose of flattery is fine but you can't beat sincere and genuine friends - ones make you feel good AND support your general functioning.
