How can we remind ourselves of "God's comfort" which "is clear and has nothing wanting" when faced with double fudge chocolate cake?

  2. The only fruits I eat on a regular basis are apples and bananas, and they don't really satisfy me. I love chocolate - pure chocolate, without any fillings, and I've tried to only have dark chocolate. But, if I eat chocolate, I can't just eat a normal serving, so I find that I have to stay away from it completely. The fruits that I had as a child were so much tastier, and I ate a lot of fruits, all different kinds, when I was growing up in Brasil. I don't find really good-tasting fruits where I shop. Why do my taste buds crave the things that aren't good for me?

  3. The things you crave which are "not good" for you were probably really good "finds" for your ancestor hunter-gatherers thousands of years ago when food was often scarce.
When I crave potato chips I often think of the salt lick that was set out for the deer in the wintertime in my grandmother's back field. Some part of me feels like a wild animal wandering around in the chilly weather wanting immediate comfort and sustenance.
